# Meet with

Overlay other people's availability on your calendar to find a meeting time.

**Meet with** shows other people's busy times on your calendar, so you can pick a time that works for everyone before you send the invite. Add teammates, whole teams, contacts, or any email address.

## Add people

1. Open the calendar.
2. Click the **Meet with** field at the top of the calendar sidebar, or press <kbd>⌘/Ctrl</kbd> + <kbd>F</kbd>.
3. Type at least three characters. Results are grouped into **Teammates**, **Teams**, **Contacts**, and **Past recipients**.
4. Select someone to add them. To add someone who isn't in the list, type their full email address and press <kbd>Enter</kbd>.

Each person gets a color, and their busy times appear on the calendar as blocks in that color. Teammates keep their usual color in Missive when it's free.

On phones, and when the calendar sidebar is collapsed, **Meet with** is at the top of the **Calendars** menu in the calendar header. It's also in the **Calendars** menu of the calendar in the right sidebar.

### Add a whole team

Selecting a team adds every member except you. Members are grouped under the team name, with a count like **5 members**. Groups of more than three members start collapsed.

Click the team name to show or hide all its members at once, or expand the group to toggle members one by one. Click the **X** next to the team to remove it. People you also added individually, or through another team, stay in the list.

### Start from a teammate's profile

Click a teammate's avatar, for example on a comment in a conversation, and choose **View availabilities**. The calendar opens with that teammate already added.

This option is available when you have at least one connected calendar account.

## Read the calendar

Hover over any block to see whose calendar it's on, like "Alex, Sam and 2 others". Your own calendars show as **You**.

* When several people are in the same meeting, it shows as one block with a colored stripe for each person.
* Blocks show **Busy**, or the event's title when it's available to you.
* Click a block to see its details. These events are read-only.

In the day and week views, each teammate's time zone is added as a column next to the hours, labeled with their avatar. The column goes away when you uncheck or remove them. External contacts don't have a known time zone.

## Manage the list

Each person has a row under the **Meet with** field.

* Click a row to hide or show that person's busy times.
* Click the **X** to remove them.

The list is temporary. It clears when you create an event or reload Missive.

## Create the event

Once you've found a time, drag across it or double-click it to create the event. Everyone who's checked in **Meet with** is added as a guest, and you're added as the organizer.

Missive also suggests a title:

* **{Team} meeting** when everyone checked is from the same team
* First names, like **Alex / Sam**, for small groups
* **Meeting** otherwise

Guests you add directly in the event form also appear on the grid, so you can check their availability as you go. See [Create and edit events](/docs/core-features/calendar/events.md#guests).

## Limits

* Availability is checked for up to **20 people** at a time. You can add more, but only 20 can be checked at once. Anyone past the limit shows an amber warning icon: **Availability is only checked for 20 people at a time**.
* If Missive can't check someone's availability, their row shows a red warning icon: **Couldn't check availability**. Their calendar may not share free/busy information. Without this warning, that person would look free.
* **Meet with** isn't available in the calendar preview shown on email invites.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://missiveapp.com/docs/core-features/calendar/meet-with.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
